If you are in need of a low-prep introduction to culture, this lesson is set up and ready to go. Your students will gain an understanding of key terms and understandings about culture, and will have an opportunity to analyze their own culture, view short video clips, and respond to questions about cultures around the world. This is set up as a printable booklet with thought-provoking questions integrated throughout, but you can also just print the pages that you need. Answer keys included!

How it Works:

This lesson and included activities can be conducted teacher-led or as independent work. Just print the booklet and triple staple. The booklet is structured with the informational text and thought-provoking questions integrated throughout. Everything is set up to move through the concepts in an organized way so that your students are applying what they learn as they move through the booklet. You can also print just the pages you need. The video links are included within the PDF, but I've also listed them in the teacher file for easy access.

Answer keys are included. Example responses are provided as students will be answering questions about their own culture so answers will vary. A grading rubric is also included for short answer responses that assess: accuracy, thoroughness, validity, and writing conventions.

 

Technology:

Please note that students will need to access YouTube to view the video clips. All links are included within the PDF, but there's also links within the teacher file for easy access. You do not have to use the videos, these are meant to enhance the lesson.
